Celeste and I joined Holy Trinity in 1988, when our son began attending EMU. We were attracted by the welcoming, inclusive atmosphere and have been members ever since. What has kept us here is our love for the students who come to worship, study, and play. We make ourselves available to them in many different ways and our home is always open to them. We love learning from them and hope that we can pass on some of our life wisdom to them. Since I was ordained a Permanent Deacon in 2005, I have had a unique relationship in our parish. I am on Fr. Phil’s Holy Trinity staff, as a volunteer appointed by Bishop Boyea and ultimately responsible to him. I am usually in my office on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, available any other time by appointment and always available to talk when I am around. Some of my duties include marriage and baptismal preparations, presiding at marriages and funerals, Adoration and Benediction on the 3rd Tuesday of every month, and coordinating the RCIA process with St. John the Baptist. I also preside at a Communion Service monthly at Glacier Hills senior center.
